چکیده
In this contribution, we examine how people living around industrial gold mining concessions in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) view themselves relation to the extractive industries. We apply Hall’s notion articulation grasp layering subject formation time and space, or what call “sedimentation subjectivities”. The lens allows for a better understanding engage with positions they are interpellated into. Specifically, it helps uncover engagement is imprinted by subjects’ socio-economic position historically shaped forms social identification. sedimentation, turn, enables us trace crystallization subjectivities one particular conjuncture influences subsequent processes – dynamic distinct spatial dimensions. People’s sense place, including relate soil subsoil, an important vector these historical influences. sum, sedimented captures spatio-temporal dimensions over longue durée. It therefore establish enduring influence “colonial residue” on contemporary formation. addition, our approach sheds further light overall modest imprint governmental schemes corporations ascribe heterogeneity sedimentation elements that shape dispersed nature interpellation. These observations underscore pertinence perspective

Children who are separated from their families and usual caregivers in emergencies face a multitude of risks. The humanitarian community lacks methods to systematically capture changes in the frequency and nature of such separations over time. A mobile phone-based community surveillance system was piloted in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The goal was to identify new cases of unaccompani...

We must also find effective ways to secure Africa's vast natural resources – its diamonds, cobalt, ur...
متن کاملNMR properties of sedimented solutes.
This perspective paper is intended to give some insights into the recently proposed technique of NMR of solutes sedimented by ultracentrifugation in a rotor used for solid state NMR experiments. Sedimented "states" correspond to molecules with very little reorientational capability in extremely concentrated solutions. They provide solid state NMR spectra comparable in quality with those of the ...
